Like "I have this recipe. You can adjust it to taste. 3 slices bacon -- [I use 2 thick] 1/4 cup minced onion 1/4 cup minced celery 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper -- [I use yellow or orange] 15 ounces canned black soybeans 3 tablespoons no sugar ketchup 2 tablespoons Splenda 1/2 teaspoon blackstrap molasses -- [yummy stuff] 1 dash salt 1 dash pepper 1 dash hot sauce Chop up bacon, or snip it right into a saucepan with your kitchen shears. Start it cooking over medium heat. When some grease has cooked out bacon, add the onion, celery, and bell pepper. Saute the vegetables in the bacon grease until soft. Drain the canned black soybeans [toss liquid], and dump them in with the vegetables [and bacon]. Stir in the ketchup, Splenda, molasses, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Turn the burner to low, cover, and let the whole thing simmer for 15 minutes or so, then serve. Makes 4 servings. Each serving: 11 grams carbohydrate and 6 grams fiber, for a usable carb count of 5 grams; 11 grams protein."
