Like "I've been diabetic for 13 years. About a month ago had my eyes checked for the first time in three years and was told that I was on the road of retinopathy and if I didn't control my BG numbers soon, then next is laser surgery on ruptured eye veins, then blindness. Hell of a way for a retired photojournalist to go! One's BG numbers need to be below 7, at the time of the eye check it was 10.3, now almost a month & half later it is 8.9. My wake up call, or 2x4 alongside the head. Ya, this is not a cheep disease! To eat right costs alot of money, the supplies cost a lot of money, and the insulin costs a lot of money!"
