multigrain waffles

Ingredients
  • 1 c all purpose flour

  • 1 c wholw wheat flour

  • 1 c cornmeal

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 3/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3 eggs

  • 4 egg whites

  • 3 c buttermilk

  • 1/2 c unsweetened applesauce

  • 3 tbsp canola oil

  • 2 tbsp butter melted

Directions
  1. In a large bowl combine the first 7 ingredients. In another bowl whisk the eggs, egg whites, buttermilk, applesauce, oil and butter. Whisk into dry ingredients just until blended.

  2. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manutacturers directions until golden brown.
