Halloween Graveyard Cake

Make this spooky dish to delight your halloween guests!

Halloween Graveyard Cake

Ingredients
  • 2 pkg. (3.9 oz. each) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding

  • 3 cups cold milk, 1%

  • 1 tub (12 oz.) Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

  • 15-18 Sugar-Free Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, crushed (about 1-1/2 cups) (We used Murray brand which can be found at most grocery stores)

  • Assorted cookies and candy for decorations (not included in nutritional facts)

Directions
  1. Make pudding according to package directions, set in fridge to cool.

  2. Using a food processor, pulse chocolate sandwich cookies until they are crumbs.

  3. Combine pudding, 2.5 cups cool whip, and half the cookie crumbs. Spread in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.

  4. Top with remaining crumbs. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

  5. Pipe remaining whipped topping onto dessert as ghosts.

  6. Decorate oblong cookies as tombstones and place in dessert. You can also add gummi worms or anything else you fancy.

  7. Enjoy!

8 servings and 18 g carbs- this great for T1 kids that aren't allowed to have treats. This would be a great dessert after dinner easily after a roasted chicken dinner.

The recipe I use has creme cheese mixed in with the pudding. I know it as dirt cake. It is yummy and my grandsons love it. But not very diabetic friendly. I still might make one for the boys this year. I used to put gummy worms in it.

2 packets Jello Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding= 8 carbs per every 10 grams, 4x8 = 32 carbs per box 2x 32 = 64 carbs. 3 cups of 1% milk = 13 grams carbs and 13 grams sugar every 244 gram serving= 39 grams carbs. Sugar-Free Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, 31 grams carbs. every three cookies, with 18 cookies that is 6x31 = 186 carbs total. 1 tub (12 oz.) Whipped Topping 38 servings per container and 2 grams carb and 2 gram sugar per every 2 tablespoons. 76 total carbs plus 76 grams of sugar. Now lets add them all together. 365 carbs total.
This recipe is 18 servings or 20.2 carbs per serving and 6 grams of sugar, although how much of this is a serving size? Plus the 108 grams of sugar. 365 total carbs is a lot . This one needs to be re-evaluated, it is possible to burn trough a whole meal worth of carbs and sugar on this one thing.

As result I don't think this is a diet for a diabetic person who wants to control BG , It may be one that weight watchers could use as a reduced fat diet.
