Spicy Roast Chicken

Take your roast chicken up a notch by adding cayenne and smoky paprika.

Spicy Roast Chicken
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced in large chunks

  • 5 lb. whole roasting chicken

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • 2 tsp garlic salt

  • 1 tsp cayenne

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp thyme

  • 1/4 tsp fresh pepper

  1. Place chopped onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  2. Mix the seasonings together.

  3. Gently lift the skin of the chicken off the breast and thighs. Rub 2/3 of the seasoning under the skin of the breast and thighs. Rub the remaining seasoning over the outside of the skin, including underneath.

  4. Place the chicken in the slow cooker on top of the onion.

  5. Cook on low for 5-6 hours.

This spicy roast chicken is the Bomb !!!!! very easy to prepare and smells good in slow cooker. tastes great and meat is very tender and falls off bone. this will be my # 1 chicken dish,Thanks for sharing it.God Bless.
