Low-Carb Pizza Crust

By J Kate

Flour loads traditional pizza crust with carbs – but this clever recipe gives you a tasty low-carb alternative.

Low-Carb Pizza Crust
Ingredients
  • 3 Cups Shredded Mozzarella

  • 1 Cup Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp Basil

Directions
  1. This is the basic recipe for the crust - 16" size. I use a 13 x 9 pan for mine.

  2. You can use your own mix of cheese - even reduce it by one cup/one egg to make less…I like my crust a bit thicker so I use 4 cups of cheese, 4 eggs, for thinner crust use 3 cups of cheese and 3 eggs. You can also vary the seasonings you use, if you have a favorite blend use it.

  3. Mix together.

  4. Bake at 450 degrees until browned to desired crispness/doneness

  5. it does not stick to the pan - trust me!

  6. Top with 1/4 cup pizza sauce (more if you like more but if watching carbs, use 1/4 cup); use any mix of meats or other toppings as desired. Once you add the toppings you want (including any additional cheese you want on top) - put under the broiler until the cheese is melted to desired point.

  7. ENJOY!

I made this today and it's not too bad. Does taste a little eggy, but that is to be expected. It looked beautiful coming out of the oven, wished I had thought to take a picture. One note—it DOES stick to the pan. Not bad, but enough to be annoying.

So I saw this recipe today and decided to try it. With only 5 ingredients for the crust, what can go wrong? The pic of the bread dough is just that- bread (flour)dough. Never the less, the pizza came out fabulous! I had some spaghetti sauce my brother in law made, with fresh peeled Hatch green chili and wow, I'll make this again!!

Is the picture of the dough the actual way it looks when you mix it up…looks like regular pizza dough? Do you have a photo of what it looks like when it comes out of the oven? Would love to see.
