Chia Hummus

Skip the grocery store hummus and whip this up at home instead!

Chia Hummus
  • 1 cup canned chickpeas, drained

  • 1/2 lemon, juice

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup sunflower oil

  • 1 cup fresh parsley (keep some parsley for garnish)

  • 1/4 tsp chili powder

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 tsp unrefined sea salt

  • 2-3 tbsp milled or whole chia seed

  1. Mix all the ingredients with a blender until it is smooth and creamy.

  2. Garnish with parsley.

  3. Serve with warm whole wheat pita, toast, crackers or vegetable sticks

Looks like another winner. One of my favorites also and I have all the ingredients in my cupboard right now.

Thank you for this. Hummus is one of my new favorite snacks. I haven't actually tried making my own and the only store bought flavors I've found is Roasted Red Pepper and Spinach and Artichoke. Both are good but would love to be able to taste others.
