TERIYAKI CHICKEN

By valentine lady

Ingredients
  • 8 chicken drumsticks

  • 1/2 cup lite soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar (can use substitute)

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced

  • 1/2 piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped fine

  • 1 1/2 tea. corn starch

  • salt and pepper

Directions
  1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and cornstarch into a small sauce pan. Add 2 TBSP water. Bring to boil on high heat, stirring constantly until thickened: about 2 minutes.

  2. Cool and strain, discard solids.

  3. Preheat broiler, meanwhile prepare baking rack to be 6 to 8 inches from heat source. Prepare baking sheet that will fit on rack. Line with foil and pan spray so chicken and sauce don't stick.

  4. Line up chicken legs, pour sauce all over. Salt and pepper all. Broil to golden brown. If the sauce starts to stick pour 1/4 cup water into pan. Add more if needed.

  5. *REMEMBER TO TURN CHICKEN LEGS ABOUT EVERY 3 TO 5 MINUTES.

You can use Bragg's Amino Acid to replace the soy sauce. Tastes the same with no sodium
