Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
  • 1 lb top sirloin, cut into strips

  • 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms

  • 2 Tbsp unbleached all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup fat-free beef broth*

  • 1 Tbsp dried onion

  • 1 tsp chopped garlic

  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)

  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/2 cup fat-free sour cream

Directions
  1. Brown meat and mushrooms in a skillet that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. Combine flour with broth in a covered container and shake well to prevent lumps.

  3. Add to skillet along with onion, garlic and seasonings.

  4. Cook, stirring until thickened and meat is cooked. Add sour cream. Heat but do not boil.

  5. Serve over noodles or rice

My family loves this kind of dish. I'm glad I found one that cuts down on the carbs & fat so my husband doesnt feel like he is being "robbed" of eating due to his diabetes. Cant wait to try it.

May have to try this one, can even use the Dreamfields pasta for this to keep the carb count low. Thanks.

Sounds very good. My wife makes a dish with pigeon eggs and oxtails…sounds odd but it is very good (um she is Chinese..ergo Mandarin food).

You can also serve it over roasted cauliflower and keep those carbs at bay. I love stroganoff.
