Crunch Bars

Ingredients
  • 1 cup carob

  • 1/8 teaspoon artificial sweetener

  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable shortening

  • 1 1/2 cups coarsely crumbled saltine crackers

Directions
  1. Melt the carob, sweetener and shortening in a double boiler. Stir until smooth. Add the crumbled saltine crackers. Place in a loaf pan. Press firmly. Cool. Cut into 1/4" by 1" bars, 1/2 " deep.

  2. YIELDS 36 PIECES.
