Sweet and Sour Glazed Chicken

  • Glaze:

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/3 cup vinegar

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

  • Chicken:

  • 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb) frying chicken, cut-up

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare glaze. Mix all ingredients together.

  2. Place chicken skin side down in a ungreased baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Using a spoon remove most of the juices in pan; turn chicken over. Return to oven; bake an addittional 15 to 25 minutes or until chicken is fork tender and juices run clear.

  3. Brush several times during the last 15 minutes of cooking with glaze.

  4. Heat any remaining glaze to a boil and serve with chicken.

LOL I'm glad he liked it. He has been helping me with meals. He will get online and fine a dish that has low carbs and little to no sugar and he will make it. But whats awesome is the fact that he is willing to try it too!

Yes you can, I normally will use the powder, as I am limited to how much salt I can have.

Sounds good, I will have to give this one a try, but, being MissPickeyEater as I am, I will have to swap out that fryer for some boneless skinless breasts. But the glaze sounds yummy!
