Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c Butter (margarine)

  • 1/3 t Stevia

  • 1/4 c Warm water

  • 1 c Flour, divided

  • 1/4 cup aside

  • 1 c Quick rolled oats

  • 2 ts Cinnamon

  • 1/2 ts Baking soda

Directions
  1. Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly, then beat in water.

  2. Set aside 1/4 cup flour for rolling. Mix together the remaining dry ingredients, then stir them into the creamed mixture.

  3. Add the remaining flour gradually to the dough until it is stiff enough to roll.

  4. Divide the dough into 3 lumps about the same size.

  5. Roll each lump of dough out about 1/8 inch thick and cut into 12 pieces or use cookie cutter.

  6. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake at 350 F about 10 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Remove from pan, cool serve oatmeal cookies.

  8. Serving Size: 2 cookies

Don't forget chocolate chips!!! Am I showing I have never made cookies from scratch if I tell you I wondered what "1/4 cup aside" was til I read the directions? Never heard of "Aside", LOL at me!! S2

I was just about to strike out on a search for Oakmeal cookies. Up until now I've been making them from the premix of Pillsbury. Pillsbury does a very good job.

I'm going to go out on a limb and increase the size of your 2 cookie recipe to a size of 12 cookies. If there isn't anything sacred about your recipe it seems like a dandy idea to add dark raisins and bits of walnuts.

I'm not crazy about cinnamon; but how about ground cloves, nutmeg, and ginger mix instead. Sounds good!
