When it comes to hearty, satisfying pizza that’s low in carbs, Nana knows best!

  • 1 lb roll of Italian sausage

  • 1 package of sliced pepperoni

  • 1 green pepper, chopped

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1 can of mushrooms, drained

  • 1 jar pizza sauce (Ragu is only 3 carbs/serving)

  • 1 bag of pizza cheese

  1. Brown Italian sausage in your largest skillet and drain. While sausage is browning, combine pepper, onion, mushrooms, and pizza sauce in a saucepan and warm it up. I will sometimes toss some minced garlic in as well. After draining sausage, place pepperoni slices to taste in pan with sausage and warm them up a bit. Toss in the sauce/vegetable mixture and mix thoroughly.

  2. Throw in the cheese and mix thoroughly, or, if you prefer, simply melt it on top. Spoon into bowls and enjoy.

Not something to have every day, but once in a while. But I sure miss the crust. Everything has to be crustless. Boo!

Everyone seems to think this is good,but not really. 563 calories,42gr fat,17gr saturated fat,105gr cholesterol,and 19gr carbs.These numbers are a heart attack waiting to happen.

Sounds good, but I'm confused. 8 grams of curbs, 11 grams protein and 11 grams off f\at is only 167 calories but the nutritional facts days 20 calories. Anybody know the actual nutritional facts?

This sounds tremendous since I no longer eat bread or pasta!! I will definitely try this one, but I will use Jimmy Dean's Turkey sausage crumbles instead (only 70 cal. per 1/2 cup & very low fat)) & maybe use fresh 'shrooms instead. And I like theboop"s idea of stuffing the bell peppers with it too.

I have made this but used bell peppers as a base and stuffed them with the ingredients. I have also made a pizza crust from mixing "riced" cauliflower, fat-free shredded cheese, egg, oregano, and baking before topping with ingredients. For a really quick low-carb pizza fix, I use three Kavli Thin Crispbreads (total of 10 carbs and 50 calories), top with pepperoni and provolone, and pop in a 900W microwave for 45 seconds. The thin crispbread actually stays crisp!

This sounds very delicious. I really miss eating pizza, since the bread adds too many carbs. My doctor has me on a low carb diet of only 45 carbs a meal.

This sounds really good. Maybe if you miss the crust part, a slice of whole wheat diet bread lightly toasted with the pizza mix thrown on top would be good too? I think that I'd like to try it, maybe use spices [Italian of course] and use fresh tomatoes sliced to avoid the extra salt from the sauce, then run under the broiler for a minute or two to melt the cheese. Yum!

I found a spinach tortilla that is very low carb, that I would use for a base. Also, I found 1lb. pkgs. of frozen ground turkey near the Jennie-O ones in the freezer in Walmarts flavored in Ital. Sausage and Taco Seasoned. Both are yummy and a great value at $1.18 ea. They both taste like the real thing, so if you are trying to cut back the red meat as well as the carbs, this is a great way to go and tastes just as good in the pizza…with or without the tortilla.

Saute the onions and garlic in olive oil, add fresh blanched mushrooms. Serve over a "crust" of thin zuccini strips. Use "Clasico" pizza sauce. Best wishes, Suzimai

Ah Ha! No Crust. Hmmm! I would add the onions in the last minutes of browning the sausage. Then toss in the rest of the veggies then the sauce. Just tenderize the veggies like the oven would.

You can also put the mixture on a low carb tortilla and bake like a regular pizza, really good!!!!!!!
