Asian Turkey Burgers

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey

  • 1/4 cup minced onion

  • 3 T fresh parsley (chopped)

  • 2 T Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 T soy sauce (or Ponzu sauce for a citrus hint)

  • 1 T cold water

  • 1 T fresh ginger (peeled and grated)

  • 1/4 t pepper

  • 2 cloves garlic (peeled and crushed)

Directions
  1. Combine all your ingredients in a large bowl and use your hands to incoporate your mixture until it is completely combined.

  2. Divide your mixture into 3 equal portions and form your burgers into about 3/4' thick patties.

  3. Spray skillet with non stick cooking spray and cook over medium-high heat. Approx 5 minutes on each side until done through.

  4. I am not a big ground turkey fan, but this recipe really makes them come alive and I like them this way. I have also found that I prefer to bake them in the oven at 375 for about 10-15 minutes on a broiler pan. I turn them about half way through the cooking process.

  5. This mixture can also be used to make mini turkey meatballs. You need to add 1 egg and about 1/2 cup of bread crumbs and bake them as well.

Sure, there are low sodium soy sauces or you can also use Aminos. That looks like soy sauce but is not as filled with salts. It has a different taste, so try it first to see if you like it.

this sounds great but the soy sauce would leave me so bloated. wonder if I could replace that with something else????

This is the only turkey burger I have liked. Ground turkey just doesn't usually do it for me. Besides, I love Ponzu. It rocks if you have not tried it.
