Hummas

Ingredients
  • 1-15oz.can chickpeas

  • 1-clove garlic

  • 1/4c. olive oil, more for serving

  • 2- tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2- tablespoons tahini (seasame seed paste)

  • 1- teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • salt to taste

Directions
  1. Infood processor or blender puree all except paprika.

  2. add 1-2 tablespoons water.

  3. Transfer to bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and paprika

  4. before serving.

What do chickpeas taste like? I have never had them nor have I ever seen them that I know of.

I'm an Israeli, the name is HUMMUS, NOT Hummas.
Better to prepare it with raw chick peas, soak them overnite & cook in water for 1 hr.
Goes great with a hard boiled egg & with PITA BREAD & few drops of fresh lemon juice.
