Bun-Less Cheddar Burgers

By theladyiscrazy

Skip the bun and instead, wrap this juicy cheeseburger in lettuce for a low-carb meal.

Bun-Less Cheddar Burgers
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 6 slices of reduced-fat cheddar cheese

  • 6 large lettuce leaves

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except for cheddar cheese and lettuce leaves ; mix well. Form into 6 equal-sized patties.

  2. Coat a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and cook the patties over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until the juices run clear and no pink remains.

  3. Once cooked, remove from skillet and place one slice of cheese on top of each patty.

  4. Add your favorite condiments (onions, tomato slices, pickles, etc.).

  5. Wrap each patty in a lettuce leaf and serve.

I have made this recipe but buy turkey breasts when on sale and skin, bone and grind my own this way I am sure about what is in my meat.

I'll give it a two just because it has most of my favorite things in it. Haven't tried but will be on the menu very very soon.

This was a very good recipe. You could put it on a whole wheat bun, but I just cut it up on my plate. Very moist. Even my 13 year old loved this recipe and told me she wants this instead of regular burgers now.
