Baking Powder Biscuits (diabetic)

Ingredients
  • 2 c Flour

  • 3 tbls Baking powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 4 tbls Shortening

  • 3/4 c Skim milk

Directions
  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together.

  2. Cut in the shortening until it is evenly mixed with the dry ingredients.

  3. Then ADD, Milk, mixing well.

  4. Then Knead for a a 1/2 minute and roll out to about 1-1/2 inch in

  5. thickness.

  6. Cut with a Biscuit cutter.

  7. Place the biscuits 1-1/2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.

  8. The BRUSH with the Milk and BAKE at 450F oven degrees 10-12 minutes

Thanks! But what is carb count, per biscuit?
Am also looking for brand of canned tomatoes with little or no sugar added, or a similar recipe for home canning. Couldn't stand sweet tomatoes taste even before I had diabetes; sure don't need it now!

If anyone ever wants a foolproof, recession proof, get rich quick plan (not a scheme, honest business plan), he/she should invent/develop a cure for diabetes or chocolate sub that tastes like the real thing!
Hmm, maybe I should try that myself.
