  • 16 ounces radishes, washed, dried and trimmed

  • 1 small onion, diced, 2 1/2 ounces

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Quarter the smaller radishes and cut any larger ones into eighths. Heat the butter and oil in a medium skillet; add the radishes and onions. Cover the pan and turn heat to low. Let cook for 5-10 minutes. Uncover, turn heat to medium and cook until nicely browned, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.

We love fried radish!!! But I fry a few slices of bacon while I cut up my radish. The i fry the radish in the bacon grease (i know…not so healthy!) and just before I take them up I sprinkle on some garlic powder. The garlic powder brings out the natural salt in the garlic and they will really not need any extra. The only thing is that the pink color is a little disconcerting and something most people have to get past.

I love radishes and this is one way I never thought to eat them. Gonna give this one a try as well.
