Rice with meat

  • • 2 cups rice.

  • • 1/2 kg meat cubes

  • • 1 tablespoon margarine or ghee.

  • • 1 onion.

  • • 2 cardamoms.

  • • 2 bay leaves.

  • • 2 cups milk.

  • • Salt and pepper.

  2. • In a deep pan, put water and bring to boil.

  3. • Wash meat well then add to pan with onion, cardamoms, bay leaves.

  4. • Leave until meat is done.

  5. • Add salt and pepper then take meat out of broth.

  6. • Strain and reserve meat broth.

  7. • Wash rice and drain.

  8. • Arrange meat cubes in the bottom of a baking dish.

  9. • Add rice over meat then pour broth over rice, then pour milk.

  10. • Heat oven and cover dish, put in oven and leave for half an hour until rice absorbs most of the broth and milk.

  11. • Remove cover and open broiller, broil rice until surface becomes golden brown.

  12. • Serve while hot in same dish.
