Pepper, Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 4 medium garlic cloves , chopped

  • 1/2 lb extra lean ground beef (5% fat)

  • 1/2 Cabbage, fresh, head, small, 4.5" , shredded

  • 1 medium red bell peppers , cut into strips

  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  1. Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat, and add oil.

  2. Saute garlic for about 5 seconds, then add ground beef.

  3. Stir-fry until beef is evenly brown.

  4. Stir in cabbage and pepper, and cook until vegetables are tender, and beef is fully cooked.

  5. Stir in soy sauce.

  6. Mix together cornstarch and water, and stir in. .

  7. Season with pepper. Continue cooking, stirring, until sauce has thickened

This sounds like a good dish to make when company is coming. I even think it would taste good with Terriaki sauce instead of Soy for a different spice.
