Fried Tomatoes

Ingredients
  • Cooking Spray, canola, with butter flavor, 1/3 sec spray

  • 4 medium tomatoes , sliced 1/4 inch thick (either green or red tomatoes can be used)

  • 1/4 cup white all purpose flour

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 pinch black pepper

Directions
  1. Coat frying pan with cooking oil spray and warm over medium heat.

  2. Dredge tomato slices in flour; sauté 2 to 3 minutes or until golden. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

I love fried green tomatoes,but haven't tried frying them red but will try them.Who knows I might love them.

I never ate fried tomatoes till this past summer. And I'm southern. Shame on me, but I like them. I think I used to much oil though. I don't like anything oily. I will try it with the flour, I used corn meal.
