Sirloin Steak with Creamy Mushroon Sauce

Ingredients
  • 1 (2-pound) sirloin steak 2 inches thick

  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

  • 3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

  • 1 cup sliced green onions

  • 2 teaspoons dried mustard

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

  • 3/4 cup evaporated skim milk

Directions
  1. Preheat the broiler. Rub the steak with the pepper and arrange on a broiler rack in a broiler pan. Broil for 10 minutes per side for medium or until the desired degree of doneness. turn once. Cover to keep warm.

  2. Saute the mushrooms, green onions and dry mustard in the butter in a nonstick skillet until the mushrroms are tender. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce. lemon juice and parsley. Cook for 1 minute and stir in the evaporated skim milk.

  3. Cook until heated through and of a sauce consistency, stirring constantly; do not boil. Slice the steak as desired and serve with the mushroom sauce.

  4. Yield: 6 servings

This is a new flavor for me. The creamy mushrooms will be a hit for my step-daughter though, she can't get enough.
