Summertime Quencher

  • 1 medium lemons

  • 1 medium oranges

  • 750 mL white wine , chilled (Zinfandel, or 3 1/4 cup apple juice)

  • 2 cup sparkling water , chilled

  • 1 Kiwi, fresh, medium, FDA , sliced

  • 1/4 cup fresh blackberries (or raspberries, or other berries)

  • 1/2 cup Cherries, sweet, fresh , pitted (8 cherries)

  • 8 Strawberries, fresh, large

  • 24 ice cubes

  1. Cut lemon and orange in half crosswise. Cut 1 lemon half and 1 orange half into 1/4-inch slices. Squeeze the juice from remaining halves.

  2. Place lemon and orange juices in a 2-quart pitcher. Stir in wine, carbonated water, lemon and orange slices, kiwifruit, blackberries, cherries, and strawberries. Let sit for at least 2 hours for flavors to blend. Serve over ice.

Does not matter to me if it is summer or not, this is sure to be a favorite of anyone who tries it. It is so colorful and special one could even serve it as a rich dessert.
