Maple Nut Granola

Ingredients
  • 2c. date pieces, or chopped dates

  • 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

  • 1 3/4 c. water

  • 1 tblsp vanilla

  • 1 tsp maple flavoring

  • 3/4 tsp salt, optional

  • 1 c. chopped nuts

  • 1/2 c. unsweetened shredded coconut

  • 12 c. quick rolled oats

Directions
  1. In a blender, place dates, 1/2 c. walnuts, water, vanilla, maple flavoring and salt. Whiz unil very smooth. Place oats, 1 c. chopped nuts and coconut in a large bowl and mix together well. Pour blender ingredients over dry ingredinets andmix well. Bake on cookie sheets in 150 to 175 deree oven until crisp, dry and golden brown. Stir frequently for even drying and baking.
