Pan Seared Halibut Steaks with Avacodo Salsa

Ingredients
  • 4 tblspns chipotle salsa, divided

  • 1/2 tspn salt, divided

  • 4 small (4 to 5 ounces) or 2 large (8-10 ounces) halibut steaks cut 3/4 inch thick.

  • 1/2 cup diced tomato

  • 1/2 ripe avocado, diced

  • 2 tblspns chopped cilantro (optional)

  • lime wedges (optional)

Directions
  1. Combine 2 tblspns salsa and 1/4 tspn salt; spread over both sides of halibut.

  2. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add halibut; cook 4 to 5 minutes per side or until fish is opaque in center.

  3. Meanwhile, combine remaining 2 tblspns salsa, 1/4 tspn. salt, tomato, avocado and cilantro, if desired, in small bowl. Mix well and spoon over cooked fish. Garnish with lime wedges, if desired
