Glimepiride is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes. Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin and helping the body use insulin efficiently. This medication will only help lower blood sugar in people whose bodies produce insulin naturally.

Pros: it seams like it works I was a 9 and now I am a five
Cons: but I di dean to have sugar spicks but I am not all ways eating like you shod but I do stay a way from sugar
Overall: I am happy with itBy
Pros: I've been on this med for 15 years...the first med for my diabetes they gave me. Although I thought it was pretty good, it did the job, and when added with other meds seemed to not upset my stomach. Now the doc has taken it away, and when added 1mg back, my bs numbers are still up in the air. But it does work if you can tolerate it. Make sure dosage is enough for you
Cons: can't think of any side effects I've had, in fact none.....
Overall: It was good, is still good. But I would much rather be on less oral meds and get lantus or humalog to work in my favorBy
Pros: Little or no low blood sugar episodes as long as you eat right
Cons: Even when numbers are constantly under control; nothing stops complications; I do NOT believe any med or diet will do that
Overall: Good; except for the inevitable complications of long term type IIBy
