My 15-year-old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 recently. Her reading are really good lately. I am assuming this is her honeymoon stage. What should I look for when it is not the honeymoon anymore? Will her BG be more erratic? She is on Novolog and Lantus. I was told she could eat anything (as long as she covers it). But I do not believe this to be true. What foods should she try to stay away from mostly?
I take care of my grandfather, who is diabetic. I'm 20 years old and I take him grocery shopping every week. He never knows what to get, and he isn't much of a cook. I feel awful because I'm no rocket scientist at putting low-carb meals together. I've looked at numerous websites for meals and none of them seem to be much help. I offer to cook for him so he doesn't have to, but he doesn't want me to have to go to the trouble. I need quick, easy meals. Please help!
