I have been getting nauseaed alot lately, is that diabetes or could it be my vitamins?
Diabetes usually doesn’t cause nausea unless blood glucose levels are extremely high. However, many people find that their vitamins and minerals can give them an upset stomach or bloating, or cause nausea, especially if taken on an empty stomach. Iron and calcium, in particular, can be hard on the stomach. Try taking your vitamins shortly after you’ve eaten something, rather than before you eat, and see if that helps to lessen your nausea. Also, make sure that you’re not taking very high doses of any type of vitamin or dietary supplement (such as fish oils, for example), as high doses can cause nausea (and can also be dangerous in some cases). If your nausea persists, make an appointment with your healthcare provider to discuss other possible causes.
