Are bratwurst bad for you?

Amy Campbell

Bratwurst (or a “brat”) is a type of German sausage usually made from pork and veal, with spices added for seasoning. Like other processed meats, bratwurst is not known for its nutritional value. A 3-ounce link contains 280 calories, 25 grams of fat (9 of those grams from saturated fat), and 720 milligrams of sodium (and who eats just one link?). In general, bratwurst is a high-fat, high-sodium food. So, enjoy it as an occasional treat!
