I want help my cousin, who has diabetes, but I don't know how. Advice?
It’s great that you want to be supportive of your cousin. My main piece of advice is to talk with him. Ask HIM how you can be of most help. For example, maybe he’d appreciate someone to workout with, or maybe he could use some help going grocery shopping and putting together healthy meals. You might encourage him to attend a diabetes education program and/or meet with a dietitian or diabetes educator to learn more about managing diabetes – and maybe you could join him. Find out from him how you can be helpful and supportive.
