I'm struggling this holiday season. How can I get through it and manage the diabetes?
Lots of people struggle during the holiday season. To manage it, it may be best to try to ask yourself what you are struggling with? Is it financial stress? Is it holiday blues or depression? Is it expecting too much of yourself? Is it not having enough time to exercise or eat right? Are there just too many temptations? Once you have identified what you are really concerned about, then you will be able to create a plan. Create a list of what you need to get done. Include on that list specific goals for your diabetes. Make these a priority. Get plenty of rest, because this can impact how well you are feeling and how well you are able to take care of your diabetes. If you think you might need help managing your moods make sure to let your doctor know. It can also be helpful to talk to family and friends about how you are feeling.
