What can I add to my morning coffee that can lower my blood sugar?
There’s really nothing that has been scientifically proven to lower your blood glucose when added to coffee (or any other beverage, for that matter).A small number of studies have indicated that cinnamon, either in capsule form or added to food, may help lower blood glucose levels. However, you should discuss the use of cinnamon or any other supplement with your healthcare provider and/or diabetes educator before using it. In the meantime, blood glucose levels are best managed by controlling your carbohydrate intake, doing regular physical activity, reaching and staying at a realistic weight, and taking diabetes medication, if it’s been prescribed for you.
