Who set the rule that people with diabetes need quarterly blood tests. My diabetes has been very well managed for over a decade and still my internist demands that I get quarterly testing, otherwise he will not prescribe me my maintenance medications. Is that ethical? Is he following a rule set by a governing body? If so, I'd like to know whose rule it is so I can protest it. I feel it is a one-size-fits-all imposition that only serves to enrich doctors and testing facilities.
