I have been using Stevia as a sugar substitute and just recently heard that it does not mix with Metformin. I take 1000 units twice a day of Metformin. Please explain !

I’m really not aware of any interactions between stevia-based sugar substitutes and metformin. My advice, if you wish to use this type of sugar substitute, is that you check your blood glucose more often than you usually do while you are using stevia to see if it has any effect on your blood glucose. Also, if you have any side effects from the stevia, stop taking it and let your healthcare provider know.

I personally got violently sick from Stevia. I threw up and got very dizzy. I do recommend having someone with you to see how you react. Thank God my mom was there with me.

I bake a lot what is a good recommended sugar substitute? How about Estee Fructose Natural Sweetner?
