My new Endocrinologist, has my given me a new A1C challenge .. to raise my A1C! After me thinking I was doing so well keeping my A1C below 6.0 ~ staying mainly in 5.4 to 5.9 range for years...She now says our goal is to get it to 7.0. Studies have shown that for older people (Oh No! That is ME!!) that there is virtualy NO benefit to maintaining such a tight BG level . So Dr. has cut one of my Glipizied in half. Have you any knowledge of these studies, or, what is your experience in A1C results for Seniors. Are there different A1C levels for Adults and Senior Adults?
