I am a non-insulin dependent T2 and I check my BS daily changing time of testing from fasting to 2hrs after each of the meals. At my doctors office my A1c was 5.3! However, I think that test may be incorrect because, first of all, when doing my BS I have been getting numbers that are, for me, on the high side. When the medical assistant stuck my finger for the A1c she wiped it with alcohol and left it wet and stuck my finger. Could the excess alcohol cause a false reading on the test?
