Q:

The soles of my feet are always aching. When I am in bed they tingle and throb. When I go for a walk the soles of my feet become sore and go numb.

Dr. David Erani

A:

If you have diabetes and foot pain and numbness, diabetic neuropathy must always be considered as a possible cause. Plantar fasciitis could also be the cause, as it is a common cause of foot pain. It can be associated with obesity, prolonged standing, excessive running or wearing the wrong shoes. Fortunately, a visit to a podiatrist should provide you with an answer and, hopefully, relief.
