Are lemons bad for you as a diabetic? I am type 2 and I've been eating lemons off my tree for years and never thought about it. I always figured it would help me with my diet.

No, lemon’s aren’t bad for you. A 3-ounce lemon contains just 24 calories and 8 grams of carbohydrate, which is much less than many other fruits. And lemons, like all citrus fruits, are an excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidants that may protect against cancer and boost heart health. Of course, you need to consider how many lemons you eat at one time, as the carbohydrate could add up and affect your blood glucose. You should also be aware of the fact that lemons contain acid that , if you were to eat to many, might erode your tooth enamel, increasing the risk for cavities and tooth decay. You may want to ask your dentist about how they may affect your teeth.

Thank you for answering. I wasn't too sure. I love my lemons and we have a tree that has sweet lemons all years round. Thank you again.
