Can far infrared sauna help in reducing weight?
Infrared saunas are heated by infrared heaters that generate the same type of rays that come from the sun. However, these saunas filter out harmful UV radiation, leaving only infrared radiation. There are a lot of claims that infrared saunas can lead to weight loss by increasing the number of calories that you burn. In fact, any weight that you lose in this kind of a sauna is mostly water weight (essentially, you’re “sweating” off weight) and therefore is temporary. You should also be aware that infrared saunas can put you at risk for dehydration, heat stroke and burns if you stay in them for too long. Infrared saunas are helpful for muscle relaxation and reducing tension, but as for weight loss, the tried and true method is a combination of healthy eating and regular physical activity.
