Q:

My husband is a type 2 diabetic (20 years approx). He has most always had good control (A1C 6.5) but recently his doctor took him off metformin because she thought he was over-medicated. Over the last 3 months he has lost 10 pounds and his blood sugar is not controlled - his last A1C was 8.2. The doctor is working with him to adjust his dose of glipizide - he saw her yesterday - but he failed to ask her how he can gain some weight. What are some good choices to gain weight withot raising his blood sugar levels. He has been eating peanuts and avocados. Thanks for your help.
