Several studies indicate that taking cinnamon may be helpful in lowering both blood glucose and A1C levels in people with type 2 diabetes. However, this does not necessarily mean that cinnamon is a treatment for type 2 diabetes, nor should anyone stop taking their diabetes medication in favor of taking cinnamon. The research thus far with cinnamon has mainly involved the use of cinnamon capsules, providing anywhere from 1 to 6 grams of cinnamon. One gram of cinnamon is approximately equivalent to one cinnamon stick. Before you take cinnamon, though, or any type of supplement, talk with your healthcare provider . If you do start taking a supplement, check your blood glucose more often than usual and stop taking the supplement and contact your provider if you experience any adverse side effects.

You did not really answer the question which is better? I have read numerous claims about cinnamon saying that only certain expensive kinds sold only in health stores are effective. What is really the best form to take. I took cinnamon capsules for 90 days and did not notice much effect on my AIC level. Perhaps I was taking a low grade of cinnamon. What is the answer on what kind of cinnamon is effective?

Hi, I been using cinnamon pills for 8 years, and my sugar levels have always been normal, it has work for me, I take one thousand mg. a day.

hi, I like to state that my personal experience prooves that cinnamon sticks were very usefull to my blood glucose , I used to take every morning and night after meals a large cup of cinnamon with ginger, I am a diabetic type 2.
