Q:

I have type 2 diabetes. Most mornings it feels like I am fighting for consciousness. Once I'm up I feel really sluggish and my arms are weak with tingling pain to my fingers, but the thing that bothers me the most is the weak, burning pain in my biceps. When I move certain ways my arm feels like I tried to overstrecth elastic. Could this be from the diabeties?

A:

There are a number of things that could be causing your symptoms. They include various vitamin deficiencies, electrolyte abnormalities, and uncontrolled diabetes. It should be possible to make a diagnosis with a few simple blood tests. Once that is done, you can get treated and feel better. Your primary care provider should be able to sort this out for you.
