I was diagnosed in 2004, lost weight & controlled my sugar with diet, walking & glucophage (500mg/ day). I retired in 2008 on disability & can't control my weight. I'm the heaviest I've ever been at 270 & in constant pain with neuropathy & back (2 surgeries). I've had both knees replaced & still have pain. I try to walk but I fall because my feet & legs go numb. I'm on 2700MG of gabapentin. I don't know what to do. My family doctor treats my diabetes & my past 4 A1C's were 7% or lower.
