What is the best glucose meter to have and does everybody who uses one need to be able to link theirs to the computer?

Farrah M

Hi Red Flower Lady, I honestly find it hard to advocate for 1 particular meter as there are many good ones out there and it really depends on what you want! Having the capability to link your meter to your computer is a great feature but is not necessary to have unless that is what you want and what your doctor recommends!

each person who uses a meter will have different needs/wants out of it.. of course the main function of a meter is to read your blood glucose.. some have micro USB computer connectivity, some are wireless over the internet; and some ( most ) have at the very least a date/time/temperature function. Find a meter that works best for you based on what you want. Some ( like me ) prefer more complex- Some like it simple.. the best meters I have found on either of those spectrum's are the Onetouch ultrasmart ( my meter of choice) and the nipro diagnostics true2go. both are super accurate and don't take a large sample of blood.

Hope this helps some!
