I was just put on insulin last week but I am TERRIFIED of needles — any suggestions? My doctor prescribed me the pen but just the sight of the little needle puts me in fear.

The Inject-Ease made by BD allows you to give an injection without having to look at the needle when you inject. Ask your pharmacist about it. Then you will need a diabetes educator to show you how to use it. You still have to hold the syringe, draw it up and load it into the Inject-Ease, but once loaded, you do not see the needle when injecting. This can helpful if you have a significant fear of needles.
