First, think more specifically about what kind of program you’re looking for. For example, are you interested in trying a commercial meal replacement program (such as Medifast or HMR)? Or perhaps another type of program that provides you with “real” food (Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig)? Are you looking for a program in your community or is travel an option for you? What about cost? There are many types of programs available and before you spend money, think about the approach you’d like to take. Next, if you haven’t done so already, find out if your health insurance plan covers some or all of a particular program. Also, talk to your doctor or to a dietitian about any recommendations they may have for you. There are many weight loss “spas” or retreats in the U.S., too.
