Q:

I need to lose 25 pounds for bariatric surgery by Jan. 9, but I am in a chair. Can you help me? I've lost 26 pounds already but it took me three months.

Congratulations on your weight loss. Losing weight can be a challenge, so you should be commended for your hard work! I’d strongly recommend that you meet with a dietitian. He or she can work with you – and coordinate with your physician – to help you lose weight quickly, but safely. In addition, you might ask your physician for a referral to an exercise physiologist or physical therapist who can help you with exercises that you can do sitting in a chair, or perhaps tell you about other options that could work, too, such as water exercises.

Good job, I have been trying to lose weight also but I have asked my doctor for a tummy tuck and I was told that I have to lose 65 more pds so that I can get the tummy tuck… That news sat me back…
But I am dealing with it… I found that getting in the pool helped me alot… find out what works for you and what you like and go for it… I found swimming and water aerobics… Let me know how you are doing… Good Luck we can do it…
