How do I deal with being so thirsty all day? I am also worn out, especially at night. I am type 2.

Dr. David Erani

You should not have to deal with being thirsty all day. The question is, what is causing your thirst? Diabetes can cause excessive thirst, but this is due to fluid loss resulting from high blood glucose levels. Are your blood glucose levels too high? If so, you need to work with your healthcare team to lower them so that the symptom goes away. If not, there is likely another cause of your thirst which needs to be identified and addressed. There are many causes of excessive thirst that are not related to diabetes.

I totally agree. Being excessively thirsty and sleepy is the first sign of high sugars. Take your sugar when you get up and two hours after each meal. Then take the readings to your dr appt. If it is not high sugars you can then discuss what else it could be. Do not waste any time going to the doctor
