What is the difference between your meter and Group Health's meter? I belong to Group Health, and when I joined them a year ago, they said I could no longer use my Contour meter, which I was very happy with, and that I would have to use their meter, Trutouch Ultra One. They gave me the free meter and said they only carry supplies for that meter. I had used this meter before and decided it wasnt for me. I dont care for it now either.

Hi there and thanks for the question! Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Group health or their meter so I would not be able to tell you the differences between ours and theirs. I can however provide you the link to Nipro Diagnostics who are the manufacturers of the main meter that we provide; TruResult/Tru2go. If you “shopping” around for another meter we do provide several different ones (which does include the Contour) which are visible through our website; www.us-med.com, hope this helps! Here is the link to Nipro Diagnostics: http://www.niprodiagnostics.com/

I had the same thing happen to me when my husband's company changes insurance companies this year. I also had to change from picking up my supplies at our local pharmacy, which was quick and convenient, to using Liberty Medical, which kinda sucks, if you ask me. And I am not especialy happy with the new meter, either - it's kind of snazzy looking, but I was perfectly satisfied with my old brand…

The main problem is, if I get stuff out side of group health, I usually have to pay for it even tho I also have mecare, abc&d and medicaid.
