DexCom, a company that develops, manufactures and distributes continuous glucose monitoring systems for diabetes management, was honored by Fast Company among the most avant-garde companies in healthcare. According to the Wall Street Journal, Dexcom was named the fifth most innovative company in the healthcare industry — no small achievement.
As someone who uses DexCom's products, I personally am glad to see these accolades. True appreciation for DexCom's technological advances come easily for those living with type 1 diabetes, particularly those parenting to it. Sleepless nights filled with anxiety and worry are now tempered by DexCom's bells and whistles to awaken all.
DexCom's newest product the G4 Platinum weighs in at 2.4 ounces and touts multiple improvements across the board. With transmission distance at 20 feet and a 30 percent improvement in the hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) range, what's not to love about it?
In my opinion, DexCom's continuous glucose monitoring products add a missing measure into the lives of those affected with type 1 diabetes: safety. Because diabetes is marked by unpredictable circumstances and constant fluctuations DexCom has been welcomed into many homes with open arms. With less interruptions from diabetes surprises, there's more time to enjoy everything else!
